THE REGION The CABY region comprises four watersheds--the Cosumnes,
American, Bear, and Yuba--which combine to form a major
drainage area of the western slope of the Sierra Nevada range, from the mountain
crest to the Central Valley. The collective streams, rivers, lakes, and
reservoirs of these watersheds flow into the Sacramento River and are a major
source of fresh water for the state of California.
THE ORGANIZATION
CABY is made up of a diverse group of stakeholders who are passionate about making a difference in the region in a consensus-driven manner. Click here for more information.
THE ISSUES
The Sierra Nevada has significant water issues and conflicts unique to its geography and elevation. Take a look at the IRWMP Goals & Objectives page for a list of the major issues and possible solutions identified in the plan.
